This board is manufactured by First International Computer and is known for being used by AMD to test its K6s (draw your own conclusions!). RA2007 is the only one studied that has a cache memory capacity of 1 MB on board. Moreover, its VIA Apollo VP2 (590) chipset allows for up to 2 MB of cache! The large cache in FIC PA2007 allowed us to achieve the maximum result in the SI 9.0 test. The VIA chipset is optimized for use with SDRAM memory, so we recommend using it with this board. Installation of VIA IDE Bus Master driver 2.1.3 went without problems. The only microscopic inconvenience is that you can set the enable U/DMA option only after a reboot. However, you only need to do this once. Therefore, the board cannot but be recognized as one of the best and carefully executed. The board is compatible with the PC97 standard. The delivery includes a plastic number card and a sheet for recording the configuration, which are used by the technical support service. The board showed the best result with the K6 processor (maximum in the SI 9.0 test) and very good disk performance.
